Job Description
T3 Consulting, Inc. (hereafter, T3) is seeking a Senior Engineer – Transmission & Distribution Engineering to lead the design and delivery of overhead line projects ranging from 12kV to 500kV. This role is ideal for a technically strong engineer who enjoys hands-on design, mentoring junior staff, and engaging directly with clients on complex power delivery projects. You will play a key role in project execution from concept through construction, while contributing to technical excellence and supporting business development initiatives. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Technical Engineering & Design Lead detailed design of overhead transmission and distribution lines (12kV–500kV) using PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and related tools Perform structure analysis, loading trees, and foundation design utilizing software such as MFAD and LPile Develop design criteria, engineering standards, and material specifications Conduct feasibility studies and support system planning activities Provide technical guidance and engineering judgment on complex design challenges Project Delivery Support projects from conceptual design through construction Prepare and review engineering, material, and construction cost estimates Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reviews Conduct field visits and provide construction support as required Ensure compliance with client standards and applicable codes Collaboration & Client Engagement Interface directly with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams Review and provide feedback on work completed by junior engineers and designers Leadership & Business Development Serve as a technical lead on select projects Mentor and support the development of junior engineers Contribute to proposal development, including scope, schedule, and cost estimates Supervisory Responsibilities Provide mentorship, training, and technical oversight for junior engineering and other staff Other responsibilities as assigned by management REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical) FE/EIT certification required 7+ years of experience in transmission and/or distribution line design Strong proficiency with PLS-CADD required Demonstrated ability to independently execute engineering work with minimal oversight Effective communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 25% Authorization to work in the United States (no sponsorship available) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Professional Engineer (PE) license.
