Job Description
A Service Manager for our Raleigh, NC branch, leads the daily operations of the service team, supporting technicians and partnering with customers to keep equipment up and running. This role requires strong leadership, organization, and communication skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To Leading and supporting field and shop technicians by providing clear direction, resources, and guidance as needed. Monitoring all work in process to ensure jobs stay on schedule and customers are informed throughout the process. Serving as the primary contact for customers on service jobs, offering updates, discussing recommendations, and following up after work is completed. Preparing and reviewing service estimates, ensuring accuracy and clear communication to customers. Managing invoices for complex jobs and reviewing completed invoices for accuracy and completeness. Addressing and resolving billing or service questions from customers and internal teams. Work closely with internal teams, including parts, sales, rental, and others, to ensure service operations run smoothly. Support day-to-day service operations and step in as needed to help resolve issues. Coach and develop technicians through ongoing support, feedback, and technical guidance. Identify opportunities to improve workflow and overall department efficiency. Oversee the service vehicle fleet, ensuring proper maintenance and readiness for field work. Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new technicians. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in service administration or supervision, preferably in material handling or a related industry Previous leadership experience with a proven ability to manage and support a team Strong communication and customer service skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn internal systems Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Technical knowledge of equipment preferred
