Job Description
Job Purpose The Sexual Assault Survivor Advocate observes the sexual assault nurse forensic examination and provides 1) nonjudgmental emotional support, 2) ensures that the survivor receives accurate, timely information on their legal rights and treatment options, 3) protects and preserves survivors rights, and 4) refers the survivor to community resources.Scheduling Expectations One Place Family Justice Center provides 24-hour support for survivors of sexual assault.A full-time advocate provides coverage Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.Sexual Assault Survivor Advocates provide after-hours and weekend coverage to ensure support is available outside of normal business hours.Under the direction and approval of the Crisis Counselor/Advocate, Sexual Assault Survivor Advocates will establish a monthly work schedule to ensure required coverage.Weekday overnight shifts run Monday through Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 AM, and the Friday overnight shift runs from 5:00 PM to 8:00 AM Saturday.Weekend coverage includes Saturday and Sunday daytime shifts from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM and overnight shifts from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM.Advocates are typically scheduled for 10-12 shifts per month, depending on program needs.Schedules rotate so that evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts are shared equitably among advocates.Advocates must complete a minimum of four shifts per month to remain active in the role.To be considered for this position, applicants must submit a cover letter and resume.Please email both documents to BettyeMiddlebrooks@oneplacefjc.org Pay:From $40.00 per hour Work Location:In person.
