Job Description
Major Function:Responsible for shipping, receiving, and storing ingredients and finished products and for maintaining the warehouse and shipping docks.Major Duties:1.Maintain inventory and warehouses in a clean, organized, and safe manner.2.Ensure docks and outside dock areas are kept clean and in working condition.3.Prepare products for shipment according to internal and customer requirements.4.Remove internal identifiers from products and apply shipping/product labels.5.Contact carrier representatives to plan for shipping materials.6.Inspect trailers and shipments for conditions affecting food safety and report any adverse conditions to a supervisor.7.Verify inbound shipment contents for accuracy.8.Load and unload trucks and shipping containers.9.Record shipment and delivery data according to company policies and procedures.10.Store products and ingredients in an orderly, accessible manner in the warehouses.11.Verify electronic inventory records by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.12.Maintain inventory of shipping supplies and certain ingredients, and ensure stock is ordered as needed.13.Repackage products and transfer materials to storage tanks as needed.14.Draw samples of inbound materials and finished products as needed.15.Promptly report all food safety, physical safety, and product quality issues.Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 60 pounds repetitively. Must be able to stand and bend for extended periods of time. Must be able to wear Personal Protection Equipment when required. Must be able to operate warehouse-related machinery including safely and effectively, including but not limited to:forklifts, pumps, drum tippers and drum grabbers. Must pass pre-employment physical exam. Must be able to perform visual and olfactory observations.Additional Requirements: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Must pass background check and pre-employment drug test. Familiar with company concepts, practices, and procedures. Must be able to perform a variety of tasks utilizing individual initiative.Must be able to work with subordinates, peers, and superiors in all departments and outside the company.Follow company's food safety, chemical safety, sexual harassment, discrimination, and general employee policies. Occasionally perform tasks not described in this position description in order to meet the needs of the company or department.Education and Experience: Proficient in reading and mathematics at the high school graduate level. Forklift certification is preferred. A minimum of two years of chemical or food processing is preferred.
