Shipping & Receiving Supervisor- 1st shift 📍Columbus, OH | 🕒 Full-Time Birchwood Foods is looking for a hands-on Shipping & Receiving Supervisor to drive daily operations, lead a team, and ensure accuracy, efficiency, and safety across our facility! The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor will oversee the daily workflow, schedules, and assignments of the Shipping & Receiving team on first shift. This role ensures efficiency, inventory accuracy, safety compliance, and high-quality standards across all shipping and receiving operations. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Supervision Oversee daily workflow, schedules, and team assignments Direct staffing and ensure proper coverage of essential tasks Train, mentor, and develop team members to meet company standards Lead safety initiatives, including Safety Tool Box Talks Ensure full compliance with Birchwood Foods safety policies Operations & Inventory Management Plan labor utilization and maximize efficiency through effective task assignments Maintain accurate daily inventory levels Ensure proper documentation for raw material receipts, including COA compliance Verify product temperature requirements are met during receiving and shipping Enforce FIFO (First-In, First-Out) processes Manage off-site inventory levels and rotation accuracy Conduct audits to ensure documentation accuracy and completeness Coordination & Logistics Partner with procurement to align on fresh and frozen raw material needs Ensure all shipments are complete, accurate, and damage-free Maintain proper use of scanning systems for receiving and shipping Organize and maintain inventory locations Required Skills & Abilities: Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution abilities Highly organized with strong attention to detail Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills Ability to prioritize and delegate in a fast-paced environment Education & Experience: Associate degree (AA/AS) or 5+ years of shipping & receiving management experience Experience in food production, food safety, and HACCP required Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory systems (MRP, SAP, or similar) Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and sit up to 4 hours per shift Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
