Shipping Clerk Location:Waseca, MNJob Type:Full-time, Direct HirePay Rate:$19.51 per hour Spherion Staffing is partnering with a premier manufacturing facility in Waseca to find a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join their team.This is a direct-hire opportunity, meaning you will be a permanent employee of our client from day one! Work Schedule Hours:6:00 AM - 2:00 PM Days:Monday through Friday Position Summary As a Shipping Clerk, you will play a vital role in ensuring products reach customers efficiently and cost-effectively.You will be responsible for obtaining transportation quotes, preparing orders for shipment, and managing all related logistics documentation.This role is ideal for someone who is organized, safety-conscious, and eager to grow within a manufacturing environment.Primary Responsibilities Logistics Coordination:Communicate with transportation companies via phone and email to secure rate quotes and schedule shipments.Order Fulfillment:Accurately pick and pull items for orders and prepare them for outbound shipment.Documentation:Process all incoming goods, update sales order statuses, and manage shipping paperwork with high attention to detail.Support:Assist with sample orders and other departmental needs as assigned.Material Handling:Operate a sit-down forklift to move materials throughout the warehouse safely.Key Requirements Experience:Proven experience operating a sit-down forklift is required.Technical Skills:Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and the ability to learn internal shipping software.Physical Ability:Must be able to lift 50 lbs.routinely and up to 80 lbs.occasionally.Communication:Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with logistics partners.Safety & Accuracy:Ability to read a tape measure and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.Compliance:Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check upon an offer of employment.Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in shipping and receiving or a manufacturing setting.High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college or a degree is a plus.Current Forklift Certification (or the ability to become certified).Ready to start your next career move?
