Company IntroductionCackle Hatchery, founded by Clifford Smith in 1936, is a fourth-generation family-owned and operated poultry hatchery.We offer over 230 varieties of purebred poultry, shipped as day-old chicks nationwide via the U.S.Postal Service directly from our facility in Lebanon, MO.Cackle Hatchery's consistent mission for nearly nine decades has been to enrich customers' lives by supplying high-quality poultry for exhibition, meat production, egg laying, and companionship, with a strong emphasis on tradition, excellence, and purebred stock.Shipping Department PositionsThese roles focus on preparing and assembling live poultry orders, divided into three specialized jobs:Gathering:Reading and following weekly updated procedures to gather live poultry orders, ensuring the highest percent of survivability while being shipped to our customers.You will learn how to handle and care for live poultry while working independently and as a team.Packing:Receive gathered orders and add appropriate packing materials (e.g., heat packs, stitch pads, feed, gel) to ensure safe shipment.Postage:Final phase--process, label, and strap packed orders securely using a strapping machine, then prepare for delivery to the postal service.Key Responsibilities:include attention to detail, legible handwriting, maintaining notes, working quickly yet accurately, staying on task, teamwork in small groups, and standing for extended periods.Physical requirements:Standing for long periods, lifting up to 40 lbs.working in warm/humid conditions, and extended hours on shipping days.Must be able to pass and background check and Drug test.Schedule:Ability to work Sunday - Wednesday Job Types:Part-time, Seasonal Pay:$17.00 - $18.00 per hour Benefits:Employee discount Paid time off Work Location:In person.
