Position Summary The Shipping & Receiving / Material Control Specialist is responsible for coordinating all domestic and international shipping and receiving activities, maintaining accurate inventory control, and supporting production through material put-away and picking for assembly jobs.This role works closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Production, Sales, and Quality to ensure timely, compliant, and cost-effective movement of materials and finished goods.Primary Responsibilities Shipping & Receiving Coordinate logistics for all inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments Receive vendor deliveries, unload trucks as needed, and verify shipments against purchase orders and packing lists Unpack, inspect, and disposition materials to appropriate warehouse and inventory locations Inspect, test, prepare, package, and ship products according to delivery schedules and quality requirements Assemble cartons, prepare packing slips, labels, postage, and shipping documentation Schedule shipments with carriers (UPS, FedEx, DHL, third-party freight) and track delivery status Provide shipping cost estimates to Sales and internal stakeholders Coordinate power of attorney documentation and other compliance requirements for international shipments Collaborate with Marketing to prepare and ship materials for trade shows and events Inventory & Material Control Perform inventory put-away and pick materials for production and assembly jobs Track finished goods and raw material inventory; communicate shortages or discrepancies to Production and Operations Maintain inventory of shipping and packing supplies Participate in weekly and monthly cycle counts to ensure ERP inventory accuracy Ensure all inventory transactions are accurately recorded in the ERP system Quality, Compliance & Systems Perform receiving inspection and packing activities in accordance with the Quality Management System (QMS) Ensure compliance with ISO certification requirements and internal procedures Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory documentation and logbooks Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly logistics and inventory reports Review logistics performance against targets, benchmarks, and service agreements Collaboration & Continuous Improvement Provide internal and external customer service to vendors, carriers, and domestic/international customers Communicate effectively with management regarding logistics plans, progress, and results Stay current on logistics and inventory control best practices and recommend process or technology improvements Assist with training new production technicians and support the production floor as needed Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas Participate in additional projects or duties as assigned Education and Experience Associate's degree in a related field or High School Diploma/GED with equivalent work experience required Minimum of two (2) years of experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, or material control Experience with both domestic and international shipping required Experience in a regulated or medical device manufacturing environment preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong time management skills with flexibility to work extended hours when needed Ability to read and follow policies, procedures, drawings, and work instructions Detail-oriented with the ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately Experience using small hand tools and measuring devices Proficiency with Windows-based applications and ERP systems (e.g., Syteline/ERP/CRM); familiarity SAP-Hana a plus Knowledge of QMS, ISO standards, and documentation practices Strong written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and ability to work independently Commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction Physical Requirements Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 pounds occasionally Regular use of computer, keyboard, mouse, and multiple monitors Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move throughout the facility Ability to read, see, hear, and communicate effectively Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.Work Environment Professional office and manufacturing/shop environment Routine use of standard office equipment and shipping/packing tools Potential exposure to shop conditions including noise, dust, odors, and fumes Personal Protective Equipment Safety glasses and gloves, as required Schedule Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, standard business hours (8/9 AM - 4/5 PM).Occasional nontraditional or additional hours may be required due to training, travel, operational needs, or project deadlines.Benefits:401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Employee assistance program Flexible schedule Flexible spending account Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Paid time off Professional
