Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Short Order Cook to join our team at the golf course halfway house located near the 9th hole. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and serving quick, delicious meals and snacks to golfers and visitors in a fast-paced environment. Your culinary skills will help create a welcoming atmosphere where guests can enjoy quality food with efficient service. Duties Prepare and cook a variety of short order meals, including sandwiches, burgers, salads, and snacks, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines. Take customer orders accurately, communicate effectively with team members, and serve food promptly to ensure a positive guest experience. Assist with menu planning for daily specials or seasonal offerings, considering dietary preferences and nutritional requirements. Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, assembling ingredients, and portioning to facilitate quick service. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies; notify management when stock needs replenishing. Follow all food handling procedures and safety protocols to ensure a safe dining environment for staff and guests. Skills Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or as a short order or line cook in a restaurant or food service setting. Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques used in quick-service environments. Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling practices to prevent contamination. Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and catering is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills for taking orders accurately and working effectively within a team. Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods while maintaining high-quality standards. Prior dietary aide or dietary department experience is a plus for accommodating special dietary needs.
