Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings.Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.This opportunity is for skilled sign language interpreters to provide essential communication support within a dynamic school district serving five buildings.Located in Elgin, IL, the primary assignment is at an elementary school, with opportunities for both part-time and full-time positions due to a strong demand for interpreting services.The role offers valuable experience working alongside educators and students to facilitate effective communication in an educational setting.Key Responsibilities:Deliver high-quality sign language interpretation services for deaf and hard-of-hearing students in classrooms and school activities.Support communication between students, teachers, staff, and families across multiple school buildings as needed.Adapt interpreting approaches to meet diverse student needs and different classroom environments.Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions and settings.Collaborate with educational staff to ensure accessibility and inclusion for all students.Qualifications:Proficiency in sign language interpretation within educational environments.Experience working with children, preferably in elementary school settings.Flexibility to work in various locations across the district in case of staff absences.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage multiple assignments and maintain consistent attendance.Location:Elgin, Illinois, primarily at an elementary school with assignments possible in additional district buildings.This contract position spans the current school year and offers flexibility in scheduling to meet district needs.Candidates interested in making a meaningful impact on student learning through expert interpreting services are encouraged to apply.Submit your application to advance your career in educational sign language interpretation while supporting diverse learners in a collaborative, supportive environment.Compensation for this position ranges from $23.39 to $53.39.Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here.This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.#cjp.
