Job Description
Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings.Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.This position requires a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support middle school students in an onsite setting.The role is based in Kent, WA, with an immediate start date and continues through June 16, 2026.The contract position offers a full-time schedule of 35 hours per week, with 6.5 hours paid and 7.0 hours scheduled daily, specifically aligned with the school calendar year.Key Responsibilities:Provide clear and accurate sign language interpretation for middle school students to facilitate effective communication and learning.Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure accessibility and inclusion in the classroom environment.Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards while working with students, families, and school personnel.Participate in ongoing professional development and mentorship programs to enhance interpreting skills and knowledge.Qualifications:Valid Washington State TVI license is required.Possession of an EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 3.5 or higher.Experience working in educational settings, preferably middle school environments, is highly desirable.Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.Benefits:Competitive weekly compensation.Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance packages.401(k) retirement plan for long-term financial security.Access to a Clinical Advisory Team for mentorship and ongoing professional development opportunities.Location:Kent, WA Schedule:Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week (school calendar year) Contract Duration:Immediate start through June 16, 2026 Qualified candidates who meet these criteria are encouraged to apply to contribute to an inclusive educational experience for students requiring sign language interpretation support.Compensation for this position ranges from $18.25 to $87.00.Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here.This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.#cjp.
