In this energetic role, you will be responsible for efficiently packing silage into storage pits to ensure high-quality feed for livestock.Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help maintain smooth operations, optimize feed quality, and support the overall health of our farming ecosystem.This paid position offers an engaging environment where your physical stamina and teamwork skills will shine.Duties Operate specialized packing equipment to evenly distribute and compact silage within storage pits Monitor the filling process to ensure proper layering, moisture levels, and compaction standards are met Assist in preparing the silage pit area by ensuring it is clean, safe, and ready for packing activities Collaborate with team members to coordinate the timely filling of multiple pits during harvest seasons Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify maintenance needs and ensure safe operation Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents or injuries during packing operations Maintain accurate records of packing activities, including start and finish times, and any issues encountered Experience Prior experience in agricultural labor or machinery operation is preferred but not required; training will be provided Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality silage packing standards are achieved Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment Willingness to learn safety procedures and adhere strictly to farm protocols Understanding of farm equipment operation and mechanically inclined.Join us in creating nutritious feed that supports healthy livestock!
