Responsibilities Design and develop digital and mixed-signal integrated circuits using SystemVerilog, VHDL, and other hardware description languages. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system specifications for SoC (System on Chip) projects, ensuring alignment with product goals. Conduct thorough root cause analysis on silicon failures or performance issues, implementing effective debugging strategies. Create detailed schematics and layouts using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar CAD tools for PCB and system design. Perform FPGA development and verification to prototype and validate hardware concepts rapidly. Engage in project scheduling activities to meet development milestones while managing multiple concurrent projects. Utilize MATLAB, Simulink, Python, or Perl scripting for simulation, automation, and data analysis tasks related to signal processing and system modeling. Support manufacturing processes by understanding surface mount technology (SMT), soldering techniques, and electrical systems integration. Conduct signal processing assessments and vision inspection system evaluations to ensure quality standards are met. Apply mechanical knowledge when designing enclosures or mechanical components that interface with electronic systems. Skills Extensive experience with FPGA development platforms and programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Proficiency in hardware description languages such as SystemVerilog, VHDL, C++, and MATLAB for simulation and design verification. Strong understanding of electrical systems, schematics creation, PCB layout design, and surface mount technology (SMT). Knowledge of project scheduling methodologies to effectively plan and track project progress. Familiarity with CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks for mechanical-electrical integration. Experience with root cause analysis techniques for troubleshooting silicon or electrical failures. Ability to perform soldering, surface mount assembly, and mechanical assembly tasks confidently. Practical knowledge of quantum engineering principles is a plus for emerging technologies. Skills in firmware development using Arduino or similar microcontroller platforms; scripting skills in Python or Perl are advantageous. Understanding of electrical engineering standards such as NEC (National Electrical Code) for safety compliance. Experience working with manufacturing environments to ensure design manufacturability and quality control standards are met.
