We are hiring a Site Health & Safety Manager in Owensboro, KY ‘Day to Day’ Working as part of the EHS Team, and reporting directly to the Site EHS Manager, you will lead the site’s Health & Safety team and be responsible for the daily execution of all safety programs at one of the largest and most complex PMI U.S. manufacturing facilities. This is a high‑impact, hands‑on leadership role in a dynamic environment that includes legacy assets, high‑energy processes, contractors, confined spaces, powered industrial vehicles, and multiple large‑scale operational areas. You will partner closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and regional EHS leadership to strengthen safety culture, reduce risk, and ensure safe and reliable operations every single day. What You’ll Do Lead the Owensboro Site H&S Team (People & Execution Leadership) Lead and mentor a team of safety professionals responsible for daily H&S execution. Set team priorities, manage workload, and develop technical and leadership capability. Ensure strong alignment and partnership with Site Environmental team and Site Leadership. Execute Safety Programs at Scale Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Confined Space Entry Work at Height (ladders, lifts, rooftops) Hot Work & fire protection Machine guarding & high-speed automation Permit-to-work systems High-risk task verifications Lead Incident Response & Local Investigations Ensure timely response to any injury, near miss, hazardous condition, or contractor event. Lead HOP-informed investigations to identify systemic causes. Ensure implementation and tracking of corrective actions through closure. Partner with the Regional HS Leader for significant events. Ensure high-quality documentation, reporting, and follow-through. Drive Safety Training & Leadership Coaching Deliver safety training for employees, contractors, and supervisors. Partner with P&C for onboarding and leadership development. Coach frontline leaders on safety engagement, communication, and accountability. Reinforce psychological safety and enable open reporting. Enhance Daily Safety Culture & Engagement Daily presence on the production floor Leading or participating in tier meetings Conducting safety Gemba walks Driving hazard reporting, safety observations, and “stop & fix” culture Supporting employee‑driven improvements and learning teams Lead Contractor & Construction Safety Ensure contractors comply with PMI U.S. safety rules and critical controls Lead contractor onboarding and verification of permits Support Engineering during construction, installation, and commissioning Ensure flawless execution during shutdowns and turnarounds Partner Across Business Operations and Production Leaders Maintenance & Reliability Engineering & Capital Projects Site EHS Manager and ENV Team Regional EHS and Sustainability Team Site P&C Partner What We Are Looking For 4–8 years of safety experience in manufacturing, industrial operations, utilities, or construction. Strong knowledge of critical HS programs (LOTO, machine guarding, confined space, fall protection, contractor safety). Experience leading incident response and investigations. Proven ability to coach and influence supervisors and hourly employees. Comfortable leading a small team and coordinating across functions. Strong communication and documentation skills. Preferred Experience with high‑risk or large manufacturing environments. Exposure to Human & Organizational Performance (HOP) principles. Knowledge of ISO 45001 or structured safety management systems. Certifications: OSHA 30/510, CHST, COSS, CSP (not required but valued). Experience with Lean Manufacturing an
