Job Description
The Performance Analyst, Junior monitors and analyzes the performance of enterprise IT systems and services to ensure they meet defined service levels and user experience expectations in a mission-critical federal environment. This role collects, correlates, and interprets metrics and logs from infrastructure, applications, and networks to identify performance bottlenecks and stability issues. The analyst builds dashboards, reports, and alerts that provide actionable insights to operations, engineering, and security teams for proactive optimization and continuous improvement of system reliability and efficiency. Key Responsibilities Design and maintain performance monitoring dashboards and alerts using log analytics and observability platforms to track infrastructure and application health across the federal client environment. Collect and correlate metrics, events, and logs from servers, networks, databases, and applications to diagnose latency, throughput, and error-rate issues, supporting timely remediation. Perform trend analysis and capacity assessment to forecast performance risks and recommend scaling, optimization, or architectural changes that align with mission-critical requirements. Conduct structured root cause analysis on recurring performance incidents, documenting findings and driving follow-up actions with operations and engineering teams. Develop and refine performance KPIs and service level objectives (SLOs) that align technical measurements with business and mission-critical outcomes. Use tools such as network performance monitors and log analytics platforms (e.g., SolarWinds, Splunk) to investigate anomalies, validate hypotheses, and support incident response efforts.
