GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Buildings & Grounds, Skilled Maintenance performs a variety of skilled/specialized maintenance related duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.Perform skilled work in masonry, carpentry, electrical, painting, plumbing operations, or other specialized activity.2.Repair windows, doors, floors, walls, and other parts of buildings.3.Repair betting tables, ticket issuing booths, and other equipment.4.Serve as a general handyman performing a variety of skilled duties.5.Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of grounds, including the removal of cigarette butts, mowing, weed whacking, and watering plants.6.Responsible for mucking horse stalls.7.Perform other related duties as assigned.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Good knowledge of building, general maintenance, repair practices and specialized skills.Must have mechanical aptitude, knowledge of the practices and techniques of one or more trades/industries, and be in good physical condition.JOB TITLE:SKILLED MAINTENANCE (continued) ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE A high school diploma or GED, plus one (1) year of full time experience in a specialized skill, building maintenance and/or general maintenance work; or an equivalent combination of the foregoing experience and training sufficient to indicate the ability to effectively perform the required duties of the position.Must possess the required licenses and/or certifications to perform duties, including a valid driver's license.Must be approved for and maintain a valid Video Lottery Gaming Service Employee license and racing license issued by the New York State Gaming Commission.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This is a stationary role approximately 50% of the time.This position includes tasks that may require the ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds at a time and bend or stand as necessary.The position involves accessing and inspecting areas of buildings and grounds, including climbing ladders and operating machinery.Effective communication, both in person and over a radio, is required.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.This position does have moderate exposure to weather conditions.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Must be available to work nights, weekends, and on holidays.Pay:$26.01 per hour Benefits:Dental insurance Employee assistance program Employee discount Health insurance Paid time off Retirement plan Vision insurance Work Location:In person.
