Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Small Engine Mechanic to join our dynamic service team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining small engines and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and longevity. Your expertise will help customers get back to work quickly with reliable equipment, whether it’s lawnmowers, chainsaws, generators, or other small machinery. Responsibilities Diagnose issues accurately using schematics and technical manuals for various small engines and equipment. Perform repairs on small engines, including carburetor rebuilding, ignition system troubleshooting, and fuel system repairs. Conduct maintenance procedures such as oil changes, filter replacements, and tune-ups to keep equipment running smoothly. Repair and service diesel engines, generators, and other power equipment with precision and attention to detail. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and heavy lifting techniques to complete repairs efficiently. Read and interpret schematics and electrical diagrams to troubleshoot electrical systems within small engines. Ensure all work complies with safety standards and quality control procedures while providing exceptional customer service. Experience Proven dealership experience or service technician background working with small engines or similar machinery. Extensive mechanic experience with automotive repair, equipment repair, or heavy machinery maintenance. Knowledge of diesel engine repair, generator servicing, electrical systems, and mechanical troubleshooting. Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment or similar heavy-duty brands is a plus. Hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering for repairs. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills to assist clients effectively. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during complex repairs.
