Social Studies Teacher – St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic College Preparatory High School, Vancouver, WA Position Type Secondary Teacher (Social Studies) Date Posted 5/13/26 Location: St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic College Preparatory High School, Vancouver, WA. Seton Catholic College Prep is a Catholic, co-educational, comprehensive college preparatory high school. Seton Catholic opened its doors in a brand new facility in September 2016. It has grown every year since it first opened in 2009, with an enrollment of approximately 300 students. Seton Catholic is an Archdiocesan 9 - 12 grade high school that pursues higher learning, deeper faith, and stronger character, with numerous Advanced Placement courses. Position Seton Catholic is seeking a qualified high school Social Studies teacher who has found his or her vocation to inspire learning, critical thinking, and moral development in a college preparatory environment. This teaching position is for the 2026–2027 school year and will begin in August. The successful candidate will be a dynamic educator who fosters curiosity about history, civics, economics, geography, and the human experience while helping students connect course content to contemporary issues, Catholic social teaching, and responsible citizenship. Required Skills A commitment to working with high school students in a faith-based school grounded in Christian values and the Catholic tradition A passion for teaching Social Studies to high school students across multiple disciplines and grade levels (including Advanced Placement coursework) Ability to design engaging lessons that develop critical thinking, discussion, research, writing, and analytical skills Ability to foster respectful dialogue and student engagement around historical and contemporary topics Proficiency in integrating technology into instruction Excellent communication skills with students, families, and colleagues An active respect for diversity and commitment to Catholic social teaching Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and organizational skills Education And Experience A minimum of a Bachelor's degree (History, Social Studies, Education, Political Science, or related field preferred) Has or is currently pursuing a Washington State Teaching Certificate in Secondary Education Experience teaching Advanced Placement coursework preferred The statements contained herein describe the scope of responsibility and essential functions of this position but should not be considered an all-inclusive listing of work requirements. Salary Range $52,000 – $90,000 Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant skills, prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
