About The Role We are seeking a Jr - Mid Level Software Business Analyst for a remote contract position based out of Ann Arbor, MI. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within an agile software development team, collaborating closely with senior developers, clients, and end-users. The primary responsibility will be to gather, analyze, and define business requirements for custom software projects, ensuring that client needs are accurately translated into functional specifications. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the software development lifecycle, contributing to the creation of technical and functional documentation, developing user stories, and participating in testing and validation processes. This position offers competitive compensation ranging from $25 to $35 per hour, depending on experience, along with potential benefits. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in an agile/scrum environment using JIRA Proven track record of successfully gathering and defining requirements for software development products and testing tools Strong analytical skills to document business processes, workflows, and use cases Excellent written and verbal communication skills at both business and technical levels Inquisitive and innovative mindset with a focus on deadlines and team collaboration Willingness to learn and adapt to new roles and responsibilities Experience or familiarity with healthcare organizations, clinical workflows, electronic health records, interoperability standards, and HL7 (preferred) Certifications such as CSBA or CBAP are a plus Spanish language skills are advantageous Responsibilities Collaborate with clients and team members to identify, gather, and define business requirements for custom software development projects Create comprehensive functional and technical documentation to guide software development Analyze and document existing business processes, workflows, and use cases throughout the development lifecycle Develop and maintain user stories, updating JIRA to reflect project progress Participate in testing activities, including system validation and quality assurance processes Assist in translating business needs into technical specifications for development teams Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback and insights Benefits Competitive hourly rate of $25-35, based on experience Opportunity to work remotely with flexible scheduling Exposure to innovative projects within the healthcare and software development sectors Potential for professional growth and skill development Access to a network of industry professionals and resources Participation in a supportive and collaborative team environment Equal Opportunity The ACI Group is an equal opportunity employer.
