Job Description
Our client is a leading all‑in‑one platform that powers online ordering, websites, menus, marketing, and customer experience for businesses across the food and hospitality ecosystem. Tens of thousands of operators rely on our client every day to run and grow their business. The AI Agents team at our client has a singular mandate: build agents that allow operators to manage their business through natural conversation, seamlessly integrated across the platform. This is one of the company’s most important strategic initiatives, and the team is early enough that you will influence the architecture, platform direction, and product experience from the ground up. They are looking for engineers who have shipped production agentic AI features and thrive in fast‑moving, ambiguous environments. Your immediate impact will be owning an agent surface end‑to‑end. Longer term, you’ll help define what the agent platform becomes and shape the technical direction for the many agent surfaces planned over the next year. This role is 100% remote and can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada. Tech Stack Frontend: React, TypeScript Backend: Node.js, TypeScript with Vercel AI SDK Databases: MongoDB, PostgreSQL Observability: Datadog, Braintrust / LangSmith for evals The impact you'll have Own one or more agent surfaces end‑to‑end, from LLM integration and tool design to backend orchestration, conversational UI, and evals Contribute to the shared agent platform: tool abstractions, chat persistence, eval frameworks, RAG, observability, permissioning Shape technical direction on agent architecture, framework choice, and model strategy across the company Make thoughtful tradeoffs on latency, cost, and reliability so agents feel fast, stable, and trustworthy in production Raise the bar for agent quality through rigorous evals, iteration, and reusable patterns adopted by other engineers What we're looking for 5+ years of software engineering experience, including meaningful time shipping production LLM‑powered or agentic features Fluency with tool calling, prompt engineering, and agent loops — you’ve built systems where the LLM is a first‑class component Experience with eval frameworks and observability for non‑deterministic systems (Braintrust, LangSmith, custom eval harnesses, etc.) Full‑stack comfort — able to move between backend orchestration, tool design, and conversational UI without friction Strong cross‑functional collaboration and communication skills High ownership, proactive problem‑solving, and a bias toward action The salary for this position is between $200-220k per year.
