About The Role At Whatnot, video streaming and live broadcasts are fundamental to our business model. As we enter an exciting phase of expansion, we are seeking a talented Video Strategy Engineer to enhance our platform with innovative video solutions and advanced tools that empower both buyers and sellers. Your role will involve defining and executing our video strategy, improving video quality, and developing features such as interactive overlays to maximize engagement and sales. This position involves short-term objectives such as implementing robust measurement and observability systems, building a comprehensive video recording pipeline to enhance user experience and trust & safety, and developing initial seller tools to facilitate more interactive live streams. Looking ahead, you will play a key role in advancing our video capabilities for seamless user experiences, informing long-term strategic frameworks, leading innovation in seller tools, and evaluating new video provider integrations. We offer flexible work arrangements, including remote work or working from one of our global office hubs, with a preference for candidates residing within commuting distance of our hubs in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, or Seattle.
