About The Role Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a highly skilled and visionary Technical Director - 1 for the Command, Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program. This leadership position is integral to managing and advancing missile defense systems critical to national security. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Central Region Engineering Software, Electronics, and Payloads, the role is primarily based in Huntsville, AL, with potential consideration for Colorado Springs, CO. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing technical baseline management, guiding cross-functional teams, and collaborating with government and contractor stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of complex missile defense solutions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead innovative projects, shape strategic direction, and contribute to a secure future through cutting-edge defense technology. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a strong STEM educational background with extensive experience in engineering and missile defense systems. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 12+ years of progressive technical experience, or a master’s degree with 10+ years, or a PhD with at least 8+ years, is required. An active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance is mandatory at the time of application, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance. Proven leadership in technical teams, experience with large-scale C4 systems, and familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies are essential. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills are necessary to effectively manage customer relations and team collaboration. Candidates should demonstrate experience in developing technical proposals and managing risk, scope, and integration processes within complex defense programs. Responsibilities Apply in-depth knowledge of Missile Defense Systems to manage and maintain the technical baseline for the program, ensuring all systems meet performance and security standards. Assist the Prime Contractor in overseeing daily operations of the Missile Defense National Team (MDNT), facilitating coordination among team members and stakeholders. Implement and oversee project processes, including planning, risk management, integration, and scope control, to ensure project milestones are achieved on time and within budget. Lead Northrop Grumman personnel and subcontractors, ensuring they are adequately resourced and aligned with project goals to deliver engineering excellence. Collaborate closely with government customers at the Senior Executive Service level and coordinate with teammates across the MDNT to meet strategic objectives. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of innovation, integrity, and continuous improvement. Develop and review technical proposals, supporting business development efforts and ensuring compliance with customer requirements. Apply Agile and DevOps methodologies to streamline development processes, improve efficiency, and enhance system capabilities. Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the program and organization.
