Established award-winning restaurant group in Charleston, SC is interviewing for a Sommelier/Manager position at their flagship restaurant FIG (Food Is Good). FIG, founded in 2003, is credited with championing the local food movement. We are committed to our family of purveyors whose products are the driving force and inspiration for our work. Paying respect to their efforts and traditions is essential to our mission. However, the FIG experience is about more than just food. A sincere effort to educate our staff on all aspects of food and beverage culture is the basis for our service philosophy. It is our goal that guests feel special, comfortable and well taken care of. Once a humble corner bistro, FIG has since garnered three James Beard Foundation Awards becoming one of the top dining destinations in the Southeast. This position will be involved in all aspects of the daily restaurant operations, with a strong focus on staff training, and oversight of nightly service, Working closely with the rest of management team to achieve goals, you will be responsible for purchasing, inventory management/organization, tastings and the creative process. Ideal candidate should have extensive wine and beverage knowledge, and have some experience curating and overseeing a relevant wine program.
