Job Overview We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. We are hiring candidates for both of our restaurants, Norte Azul Cantina in Stephentown, NY and Blueberry Hill Market Cafe in New Lebanon, NY. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety. This position requires strong leadership skills, creativity in menu planning, and a commitment to excellence in food preparation. The Sous Chef will also assist in catering events and contribute to the overall success of our restaurant. Responsibilities Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and development, ensuring innovative and seasonal offerings. Supervise kitchen staff, providing training and guidance to maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation. Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food management, inventory control, and maintaining cleanliness. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper sanitation practices within the kitchen. Collaborate with the culinary team to execute catering orders and special events efficiently. Monitor food quality during preparation and service to ensure consistency and excellence. Participate in team management activities, fostering a positive work environment that encourages collaboration. Experience Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment. Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety standards, and kitchen management practices. Demonstrated ability in menu planning, food preparation, and team leadership. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure. A passion for culinary arts and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
