Job Description
Title: Sous Chef Location: Spoonwood Brewing Co., Bethel Park, PA Description: Spoonwood Brewing Company is seeking a full time Sous chef. We are seeking a hard-working, creative individual with a willingness to learn new procedures and techniques. Great company to work for with highly competitive wages and benefits. This is an hourly position, averaging 45 hours per week and no late nights. Job Description The Sous Chef serves as the assistant to the Executive Chef and participates in the management of the kitchen, the food preparation process and other administrative duties. Duties include, but are not limited, to the list below: - Assist in the planning of menus and promotions - Deal with guest needs indirectly through the service staff - Properly store all food, which must be covered, dated and rotated on a daily basis - Manage staff under the direction of the Executive Chef - Assist with the enforcement of sanitation and safe food handling standards - Deal with guest or employee issues as related to the kitchen - Maintain effective communication with co-workers and managers - Work in a team setting when required - Work independently when required - Train new and current kitchen staff on restaurant processes and expectations Position Requirements: -Previous sous chef or lead line cook experience -Ability to work in a fast paced setting -Ability to problem solve and multitask -Ability to work both independently and in a team environment when required -Excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude Must have own transportation Please submit your resume or stop in an apply at 5981 Baptist Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236.
