Final Filing Date: 5/28/2026 Application Methods: Electronic (Using your CalCareer Account) By Mail Drop-off Job Description and Duties Under the general supervision of the Special Agent-in-Charge (SAC), the Special Agent Supervisor (SAS) plans, organizes, directs, and supervises sworn and non-sworn personnel assigned to the Professional Standards Group (PSG) and the Background Investigations Unit (BIU). The SAS exercises first-line supervisory authority over Special Agents, Special Investigators, retired annuitants, and professional staff, and is responsible for the oversight of and conducts sensitive internal affairs investigations, criminal investigations, and peace officer and non-sworn background investigations. The SAS ensures compliance with Department of Justice policies, Division of Law Enforcement (DLE) General Orders, POST standards, CalHR requirements, and applicable laws and labor agreements. Working Conditions This position may require frequent travel in and out of state. The work location is in Sacramento. Relocation expenses will not be paid by DOJ.
