Job Summary: The Special Education Compliance Coordinator is the primary owner of Special Education compliance across all three TAS campus and supports the Director of Access, Equity, and Compliance in ensuring that all Special Education programs across The Accelerated Schools network (ACES, TAS, and WAHS) operate in full compliance with IDEA, California Education Code, LAUSD requirements, and TAS policies. The Compliance Coordinator also collaborates with the Inclusion Coordinator, Student Services Coordinator, site administrators, Resource Specialist Teachers (RSTs), Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs), school psychologists, related service providers, the special education site TOSA, and external partners to ensure strong compliance. What You Will Do Compliance Monitoring and Regulatory Oversight Monitor compliance with federal, state, and LAUSD Special Education regulations Support LAUSD oversight visits, California Department of Education (CDE) monitoring, and internal reviews (District Validation Review, Small LEA Cyclical Monitoring) Liaison with COP and CDE on compliance monitoring, including CALPADS Maintain accurate SPED data for CALPADS and internal dashboards Track service minutes, progress monitoring, and compliance metrics Coordinates and conducts weekly compliance meetings with SPED departments IEP Administration and Procedural Compliance Facilitate all complex IEP meetings Attend IEP meetings as administrative designee when needed Support difficult or complex IEP meetings Coordinate preparatory collaboration for complex IEP meetings Monitor compliant IEP report writing and service delivery scheduling Write and track Prior Written Notices (PWNs) Support and track scheduling of parent meetings related to assessments and services Assessment and Evaluation Coordination Assist with assessment requests and evaluation planning Coordinate annual DRDP testing Coordinate with contracted providers and assessors Special Education Staffing and Supervision Monitor caseloads and staffing allocations aligned with the service delivery model Manage schedules and coverage for SPED Instructional Assistants and BIIs Assist with staffing planning, recruitment, and evaluation of SPED personnel Supervise and evaluate internal SPED IAs and BIIs Program Implementation and Service Delivery Monitor service delivery scheduling for RSTs and SPED providers Support implementation of service delivery models Coordinate with contracted providers and assessors Professional Development and Staff Capacity Building Lead and/or coordinate professional development on compliant IEP and report writing Provide training on strategic service delivery scheduling and IEP procedures Provide guidance on Offers of FAPE, assessment timelines, and documentation r
