Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A school district in Hightstown, NJ is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a contract position from now until the end of the school year. This opportunity involves working with a K to 2 population within a self-contained classroom setting, focusing on students on the autism spectrum. Key Responsibilities Provide individualized instruction and support to 8 students on the autism spectrum. Manage and lead a self-contained classroom environment. Collaborate with 2 assigned paraprofessionals to implement effective educational strategies. Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet the diverse needs of the students. Monitor student progress and maintain detailed records. Communicate with families and other educational professionals to support student growth. Qualifications Active Standard or Teacher of the Handicapped Licensure in the state of New Jersey. Experience working with young children (K-2) with special needs, particularly on the autism spectrum. Ability to manage a self-contained classroom effectively. Strong communication and teamwork skills to work alongside paraprofessionals and support staff. Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
