Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. This full-time, contract position offers the chance to collaborate with an innovative team, supporting diverse learners as they achieve their fullest potential. Your primary role will center on delivering differentiated instruction and behavioral support to students in grades 9–12. You’ll take the lead in creating a positive, inclusive classroom environment, working closely with general education colleagues and supportive staff. Your expertise will extend to adapting curriculum, ensuring all students benefit from general education content, and providing guidance to maintain success in the least restrictive environment. Building strong partnerships with families and consistently monitoring and communicating student progress will be key facets of your work. Key Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred) Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement Solid understanding of IDEA, FAPE, IEP development, and behavior intervention strategies Proven experience working with students with a range of disabilities, including learning, emotional, and developmental needs Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and families Familiarity with assistive technology and inclusive education practices is a plus Primary Responsibilities Provide direct instruction and behavioral support to students in grades 9–12 Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Adapt curriculum materials to suit diverse learning needs Collaborate with general educators and support staff Maintain clear and consistent communication with families Foster a student-centered, positive classroom culture Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students by applying today.
