Job Description
A Special Education Teacher is sought to support an Intensive Resource Room serving students with moderate to severe disabilities for the 2025-2026 school year. This position is contract-to-hire and located in Fountain, CO. This classroom includes six students in grades 1 through 6 with a range of disabilities including Down syndrome and non-verbal autism. Students utilize augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices to support their communication needs. The Intensive Resource Room allows students to spend the majority of their school day in a supportive, specialized environment. Paraprofessionals assist with daily routines and self-care, while service providers such as occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and social workers provide push-in and pull-out related services. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs Provide direct instruction and support for students with moderate to severe disabilities Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and other related service providers to coordinate comprehensive care and educational support Utilize AAC devices and other assistive technology to facilitate communication and learning Monitor student progress and adapt instructional strategies accordingly Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment that supports students' academic and social growth Desired Qualifications: Valid Special Education teaching certification Experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders and intellectual disabilities Familiarity with AAC devices and communication strategies Strong collaboration and communication skills Ability to create engaging and individualized instruction Location: Fountain, CO This r
