Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. A full-time Special Education Teacher is sought for the 2026-2027 academic year to guide K-3rd grade students in an inclusive and collaborative environment. This contract opportunity focuses on the Autism Spectrum Disorder caseload within a specialized communication and adaptive behavior program. Key Qualifications And Experience Valid Special Education teaching certification (Illinois PEL with LBS1 endorsement or equivalent) Passion for working with students on the autism spectrum, especially those in early childhood and elementary grades Experience with individualized education plans (IEPs) and progress monitoring Familiarity with evidence-based strategies for communication and adaptive behavior support Strong collaboration skills for working with families, support staff, and related service providers Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Role Responsibilities Deliver instruction and support tailored to K-3rd grade students with autism spectrum disorder Develop and implement IEPs in coordination with a multidisciplinary team Provide data-driven instruction focused on communication, social skills, and adaptive behavior Foster an inclusive classroom environment where diverse learners feel valued and safe Collaborate regularly with paraprofessionals, therapists, and other teachers Track student progress, adjust interventions, and communicate effectively with families This position is full-time (35 hours per week) for the entire 2026-2027 school year and offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in an established autism program.
