The expected annual salary range for this role is $113000 - $165000 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. What You’ll Do We are currently seeking a Specialist- Accounting. This position is based at our North American HQ in Beachwood, OH with hybrid work available. Position Overview This position reports to Manager of Benefits Accounting and is responsible for Pension and OPEB accounting and analysis for domestic and international locations as well as internal modeling of US GAAP pension accounting for planning and projection purposes. Job Responsibilities Responsible for accounting entries for US defined benefit pension and OPEB plans including preparation of General Ledger reconciliations and auditor requests. Assist in the month-end Pension/OPEB accounting activities including analysis of actual results, preparation of cash flow information, and preparation of forecast information. Assist in the preparation and submission of the quarterly Pension and OPEB funding and expense projections. Perform year-end activity including plan allocations, reconciling books to valuation, summarizing annual activity for both domestic and international locations. Prepare quarterly pension footnotes for 10Q. Assist in the preparation and analysis of global profit plan information. Assist with miscellaneous projects throughout the year including Government Accounting – Annual Pension OPEB LTD data requests, quarterly PBO by country, etc. Monitor and understand impact of changes in accounting standards (FASB, IASB), legislative changes, etc. Ensure international locations book according to actuarial valuations. Collaborate with GFA Team in Pune to ensure accurate posting of monthly expense entries. Communicate with country controllers and local teams regarding the recording of contributions/benefit payments, expense, acquisitions / divestitures, and other events. Auto req ID 471670BR Minimum Education Required Bachelors Job_Category Accounting Qualifications Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities Required (Basic) Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required. Minimum 3 years defined benefit pension or accounting experience. Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Only candidates currently located within a 50 mile radius of Beachwood, OH will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future. Preferred Qualifications Expertise with US GAAP pension accounting preferred. Skills Position Criteria: Strong knowledge of defined benefit and post retirement employee benefit plan accounting and regulations. Ability to stay informed of legislative developments related to these plans. Familiarity with financial systems and processes (Oracle, SAP, FCCS, HRMS), leveraging systems capabilities and associated controls to ensure well controlled projects Knowledge of accounting and internal controls Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications, especially Excel Strong communication, analytic, problem solving, and customer service skills This position works with highly confidential data, the candidate is required to monitor and ensure strict adherence to professional standards Organizational skills to prioritize outstanding issues and resolve in a timely and accurate manner Ability to work with a sense of urgency and execute assignments under tight time constraints Collaborate and maintain excellent working relationship with actuaries, Treasury, Tax and Human Resources Ability to problem solve in
