About Our Client: This organization operates in the educational publishing and curriculum development industry, focusing on creating and maintaining English Language Arts curriculum for grades K–12. It addresses the challenge of providing accurate, aligned, and research-based literacy instruction materials that meet state and national standards, supporting educators and students in achieving effective learning outcomes. About the Opportunity: The Specialist, Content Developer (English Language Arts) is responsible for maintaining and developing curriculum and assessments for K–12 English Language Arts. This role contributes to the design and refinement of educational content that aligns with evidence-based literacy practices and state standards, directly impacting the quality and effectiveness of instructional materials offered. Responsibilities: • Communicate with content development, product development agile teams, and product management Contribute to the creation and refinement of curriculum development user stories Consult with and support teachers in curriculum creation and implementation Develop ELA K-12 course components including maps, objectives, learning objects, and activities Develop and revise K-5 ELA curriculum and assessments aligned to research-based literacy instruction Apply knowledge of the Science of Reading to evaluate instructional materials Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to complete projects and features Work with product development managers to ensure high-quality curricula and resources Propose and implement new procedures within own area Negotiate resources within and across teams to achieve objectives Maintain effective relationships within related areas Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree required; education, curriculum, or related field preferred Minimum 2 years teaching experience; virtual teaching preferred Minimum 3 years curriculum development experience; asynchronous virtual learning preferred Experience developing or teaching K-5 ELA curricula aligned to the Science of Reading Deep understanding of evidence-based literacy instruction and structured literacy approaches Strong knowledge of ELA instruction areas including reading, writing, language, and speaking/listening Experience creating curriculum integrating literacy skills with authentic texts aligned to standards Proven ability to meet deadlines and produce detailed, accurate work Proficiency with Microsoft Office, HTML, and capacity to learn new software quickly Ability to work independently and collaboratively Excellent verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2 AA) is a plus Pay Range and Compensation Package: • The minimum full-time salary range is between $60,000 - $68,000 Eligible to participate in an annual incentive program Equal Opportunity Statement: Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
