Job Description

Summary The Speech Pathologist II serves as a clinical specialist and subject matter expert in diagnosis and intervention management of communication, swallowing, and cognitive disorders. Employees in this classification provide evidence-based evaluation, consultation, and skilled treatment and instruction to patients and caregivers. The clinician participates in annual continuing education and provides departmental and organizational in-services to enhance personal and peer knowledge of evidence-based practice. Responsibilities Completes speech lang pathologist documentation, billing, and statistics per team guidelines. Manage daily caseload with efficiency and efficacy. Meets productivity standards per team guidelines. Administers advanced evaluation and diagnostic testing and analysis, establishes a plan of care that consists of current and advanced techniques and subsequent modification to accomplish patient goals; Communicates relevant information to promote continuity of care. Mentors assistive personnel and delegates responsibilities as per licensing board guidelines. Assists with onboarding of new staff by completing clinical orientation and competency verification. Develops, coordinates, and evaluates specialized programs for specific clinical service areas; engages in research and quality improvement initiatives for the clinical service team and department. Serves as an interdisciplinary liaison. Provides clinical education, precepting and mentoring of students, fellows, and other disciplines; participates in competency verification and evaluates the learner's performance.
