Are you living your life's work? School Speech Language Pathologist School Hours: 7:00am-6:00pm/ Part-time/20 Hours Per Week/Variable Hours Location: Catherine Hershey Schools-New Danville Pa. POSITION SUMMARY: The purpose of the Speech Language Pathologist position is to perform evaluation and treatment techniques within the principles of the Code of Ethics of the American Speech Language Hearing Association, and under physician referral for inpatients. Patient care includes care to patients in the following age groups: pediatric adolescent. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Serving children aged six weeks to five years at CHS programs Conduct developmental screenings and assessment, as needed Deliver treatment services and provide evaluation, and recommended services for children experiencing delays in speech and language by providing skills practice and exercises for expressive and receptive language skill development Maintain effective communication with families and all CHS departments Collaborate with multiple disciplines and participate in the Child support team to determine best practices and care for children Consultation with parents/caregivers to recommend interventions, skills practices and strategies Provide CHS center staff with recommendations on classroom accommodations or equipment to facilitate skill development Maintain documentation in accordance with CHS guidelines Ensure that progress is effectively represented in documentation Collaborate with additional external partners in creating and implementing child’s plan of care MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The CHS Speech Therapist is expected to have the following qualifications: Master’s degree in Speech and Language Therapy Hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC=SLP) credential offered by American Speech-Language Hearing Association 3+ years of experience in pediatric speech therapy services Current License to practice in Pennsylvania CPR Certification Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities Responsible, enthusiastic, and cares about working in a mission-focused environment Demonstrated understanding of and ability to effectively work with low-income families (preferred) Ability to proactively identify problems and implement solutions Willingness to be held accountable and receive feedback Comfortability with technology including MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and/or willingness to learn Commitment to the mission and values of CHS and MHS and demonstrated high degree of integrity as all MHS and CHS staff are considered to be role models for children We believe that the best care for our patients starts with the best care for our employees.
