Learn old-world sausage making from a leader in the industry.The work is fast-paced and entails preparing and organizing spices to incorporate into various sausage products ready for further cooking or packaging.Schedule:Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm or until the work is done.Saturday for business needs.Essential Functions:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Run state-of-the-art sausage equipment Work with team to confirm correct spices and meat block are used for product.Support continuous improvements of food safety systems Follow general food safety practices (GMPs, HACCP, and SQF system) Maintain a clean and safe work area Set par maximums and minimums for spices and other inputs with the assistance of Department Manager.Review inventory on a daily basis in order to request restocking as needed and in a timely nature.Request restocking as needed and in a timely nature.Use the VistaTrac system to scan spice usage into the database.Organize spice blends for use by the mixer/bowl chopper operator.Follow recipes and accurately create spice blends according to the spec sheet/recipe.Identify different allergens and avoid cross-contamination.Organize the spice cooler and components.Perform batch reconciliation.Other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.Requirements:Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Good math skills, the ability to choose the right mathematical methods or formulas for measuring spices for a recipe Positive attitude whether working independently or as a team Language Skills:Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and understand instructions.Possess good eye-hand coordination and dexterity.This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and climbing throughout the shift.The use of hands and arms constantly.The employee may occasionally lift and/or move items over 60 pounds.Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, 40-degree temperature, and wet floor.The noise level in the work environment can be loud.Benefits:401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Employee discount Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Need More Reasons?
