Job Description: Spring Term Groundskeeper & Custodian (part-time) Background: Libertas is a public charter school serving the Frayser neighborhood in Memphis. Our mission is to be a school for human flourishing: cultivating minds, hands, and hearts for lives of wonder, work, and love. We offer a rich, rigorous, and personalized liberal arts education through the method of Dr. Maria Montessori, with an attachment village of wraparound family supports. We currently serve infant through 6th grade; operate a nationally-accredited, state-licensed teacher training program; and are preparing to open a middle school campus. Learn more on our website. Role information Role summary: create a safe, healthy, pleasant environment and instill pride in students, teachers, and families by caring for our property and serving as a role model of service. Schedule: part-time, hourly position; hours negotiable. Compensation: part-time, hourly position paid $14 to $18/hour depending on experience. Measures of success: timely, thorough completion of tasks; customer satisfaction; accurate record keeping as needed; performance evaluations based on observation. Reports to: Operations team. Responsibilities and expectations Perform preventive maintenance and repair tasks, including but not limited to: Change light bulbs/ballasts; touch-up paint to walls, handrails, etc; tighten plumbing fixtures; remove debris from roof; spread salt/shovel snow; remove debris from downspouts and roof; provide slip protection on wet floors; assemble and move furniture, hang shelves; etc. Groundskeeping: Operate lawn mower, trimmer, sprayer, etc to maintain grass and plants.
