About The Role The Senior Data Engineer at CoxHealth will be instrumental in designing, developing, and implementing scalable data solutions that support the organization’s strategic goals. This role involves leading data architecture initiatives, managing complex data pipelines, and ensuring data integrity and security across various enterprise domains, including clinical and financial data. The incumbent will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into effective data models and solutions, enabling advanced analytics and informed decision-making. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a strategic mindset to drive data-driven initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and patient outcomes. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Data & Analytics, or a related quantitative discipline, or have equivalent professional experience. A minimum of four years of experience working with data in clinical, financial, or enterprise domains is required. Alternatively, candidates with a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least two years of experience will also be considered. Essential skills include expertise in relational and non-relational databases, proficiency in data integration and orchestration tools, and advanced knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark. Strong leadership skills, strategic planning experience, and excellent communication and project management abilities are also necessary. Certifications in relevant data technologies or healthcare data management are advantageous but not mandatory. Responsibilities Design and develop scalable, secure, and efficient data pipelines and architectures to support organizational data needs. Lead the implementation of data integration processes, ensuring seamless data flow across various systems and platforms. Manage and optimize data lakes and data warehouse environments to facilitate advanced analytics and reporting. Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Establish and enforce data governance policies, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and data security standards. Mentor and lead junior data engineering staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Stay updated with emerging data technologies and industry best practices to continuously enhance data infrastructure. Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes related to data architecture and technology investments.
