About The Role The Senior Data Engineer at CoxHealth will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data solutions that support the organization's strategic objectives. This role involves leading complex data projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the integrity and security of data assets. The incumbent will be responsible for building robust data pipelines, optimizing data architecture, and implementing best practices in data governance and compliance. As a senior team member, the Data Engineer will also mentor junior staff, contribute to strategic planning, and help drive innovation within the data infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, leadership capabilities, and a keen understanding of healthcare data requirements. Qualifications Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Data & Analytics, or a related quantitative discipline; or equivalent professional experience. Required: A minimum of 4 years of experience working with data in clinical, financial, or other enterprise domains OR a Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience. Expertise in relational and non-relational database systems. Proficiency with data integration and orchestration tools. Advanced knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark. Experience working with data lakes and data warehouse architectures. Strong leadership skills with experience in strategic planning and team management. Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management abilities. Familiarity with data governance, compliance standards, and security protocols within healthcare environments. Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement scalable data pipelines and architectures to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives. Lead the integration of diverse data sources, ensuring data quality, consistency, and security. Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet organizational needs. Optimize data storage and retrieval processes to enhance performance and efficiency. Establish and enforce data governance policies, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. Mentor junior team members, providing guidance on best practices and technical skills development. Stay current with emerging data technologies and methodologies, recommending innovative solutions to improve data infrastructure. Participate in strategic planning to align data initiatives with organizational goals and long-term vision. Ensure documentation of data processes, architectures, and workflows for transparency and knowledge sharing.
