Work Schedule Standard (Mon-Fri) Environmental Conditions Office Discover impactful work: Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a strategic, commercially grounded enterprise leader for the role of Senior Director and General Manager of Asset Management Services (AMS). (AMS) is Thermo Fisher Scientific’s global platform for helping the world’s largest pharma and biotech companies run their laboratories more effectively. We provide end-to-end management of laboratory instruments across their lifecycle – from installation and maintenance to data-driven insights that guide smarter decisions to accelerate drug development timelines, quality, and scientific breakthroughs. Reporting directly to the President of the Instruments and Enterprise Services Division (IES), this role is a key member of the Division Leadership Team. The successful candidate will lead a global team of 5 directors overseeing a total organization of approximately 200 colleagues. This role is accountable for commercial outcomes, service delivery, and capability development to support a transition toward a more scalable, data- and digital insight-enabled operating model. The role supports a large pharma customer base operating in complex, global, and highly regulated environments, requiring consistent execution, compliance, and delivery of measurable value. How you will make an impact: Business, Operational Excellence & Financial Acumen Own P&L accountability for a ~$300M revenue business, balancing revenue, margin, and cost management. Oversee growth, retention, and performance across Pharma-heavy customer base across 150+ global sites and 400K+ assets. Define and execute business priorities aligned to broader IES and Thermo Fisher strategy Establish performance management through clear KPIs, operating rhythms, data quality, governance, and effective use of analytics in decision-making. Align ways of working across regions and functions (Commercial, Operations, Data, Digital, GBS) Customer Experience & Growth Enablement Partner with corporate accounts and other businesses to position offerings as part of the full customer value proposition. Leverage Thermo Fisher's strong market position as an OEM-aligned, multi-vendor asset management provider. Manage customer relationships, ensuring customer allegiance through product/service delivery, support, and effective communication. Ensure seamless collaboration across service operations, product management, and customer care to accelerate issue resolution and value delivery. Ensure digital and data capabilities are integrated into operations and customer engagement People Leadership & Culture Lead and develop a global team of 5 directors and indirectly manage an organization of ~200 colleagues. Build and inspire a high-performing, customer-centric organization with a strong sense of ownership, collaboration, and accountability. Coordinate across global functions including Commercial, Operations, Data & Insights, Digital Product, and Global Business Services (GBS) How will you get there? Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA or MSc) preferred. Significant experience in a senior leadership role within a complex, matrixed, industrial or life sciences or pharmaceutical services industry Strong financial acumen with experience managing multi-million-dollar P&L, forecasting, and operational efficiency programs. Commercial experience with enterprise customers, ideally within pharma or similar sectors Deep understanding of laboratory customer needs across pharma, biotech, academia, and industrial markets. Proven ability to lead integrated service and sales teams across globally across multi-site operations Demonstrated track record in driving profitable growth, particularly through market expansion and sales enablement. Exposure to transformation, digital enablement, or operating model improvement initiatives Familiarity with regulated environments (e.g., GxP) preferred Compensation And Benefits The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $212,000.00–$317,975.00. This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
