Duties and Responsibilities: Manage implementation of requirements associated with a government environmental compliance program at the assigned site Interface with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies on issues relating to compliance Act in a leading role in the development of environmental management systems to facilitate an increase in understanding and accountability Manage environmental consultant resources for project work, including stack and continuous emissions reporting and verification Submit reports to regulatory agencies Review and approve environmental air emissions components of site proposed changes and appropriations requests, in partnership with the site’s environmental specialist(s) Work closely with site leaders to ensure compliance with program requirements Work with site and regional environmental specialists, as well as operations, maintenance, and engineering leaders at the site, to ensure environmental requirements are integrated with plant level standard work Manage the EPA Consent decree, environmental air NSR, and Title V permits and improve the enhanced Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) programs Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in chemical or environmental engineering, chemistry, or equivalent field 5+ years of experience in environmental/environmental regulations Additional Qualifications: Experience working with governmental regulatory agencies Experience in chemical manufacturing environment Experience working with unions desirable Must have an uncompromising drive for compliance and willingness to escalate issues as needed Excellent verbal and written communication skills and teamwork skills Ability to interface with and influence all levels of plant personnel Six Sigma certification preferred Demonstrated leadership skills Strong auditing abilities Must be highly motivated, energetic, and a self-directed individual with good analytical and problem-solving skills Experience with manage multiple priorities Must be proficient in Microsoft Office The base salary range for this role is $95,000 to $142,600 annually. We offer a range of market-competitive total rewards that include periodic pay rate adjustments based on market competitiveness.
