Job Description
The Senior Escrow Officer provides comprehensive escrow services for residential, commercial, refinances, and FSBO transactions. Their main duties include setting up new escrow accounts, handling escrow transactions by following established policies and procedures, ensuring services meet both company and industry standards. The Senior Escrow Officer provides effective communication with the escrow team, clients, and management to ensure a legal and smooth transfer of property. The Senior Escrow Officer provides leadership and support to the other Escrow Officers and may act in a supervisory capacity in the absence of the Escrow Manager. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs Officer’s duties on all the files, including funding and closing of all transactions. Satisfies title requirements necessary for closing. Clears title issues by working with title agencies to verify property ownership, clear liens, and prepares for title insurance. Prepares, assembles, and reviews escrow instructions, deeds, and other vital closing documents. Prepares closing figures and statements for buyer and seller and assists lenders with their funding and closing conditions. Reviews and executes closing documents with the parties, answering any questions and checking the documents for completeness and accuracy. Responsible for opening and notating receipt in all new escrows. Enters the status reports with all pertinent information for clients. Performs customer service and clerical functions to assist all parties involved in the escrow and ensures timely, thorough, coordinated, and eloquent communication with all of the parties involved. 9. Post-closing: digitizes company records and disperses funds. Provides leadership and support to the other Escrow Officers as needed and may act in a supervisory capacity in the absence of the Escrow Officer. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Associate’s Degree or equivalent is required. Two years of related experience may substitute for every one-year of education. Experience: A minimum of 7 years’ experience in the escrow industry with similar responsibilities to include a minimum of 4 years’ as an Escrow Officer is required. Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the escrow/title industry field. Knowledge of mobile home, commercial real estate sales, probate, and bulk transfer transactions is a plus. Experience acting in a lead or supervisory capacity is a plus. Must be bondable and pass a background check by the Department of Financial Protection and Innovation and Escrow Agents Fidelity Corporation. COMPETENCIES: Skills & Abilities: Demonstrated superb client relations (phone/in person) experience. Detail-oriented and professional; able to handle confidential information. Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to comprehend and write instructions, correspondences, and memos (proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar a must). Ability to deal with multiple types of roles such as real estate sellers, buyers, agents and brokers. Software: Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and escrow software, i.e., RBJ, SMS, FPS, etc. Compensation: $35.00 - $37.50 an hour Actual base pay within this range will be determined by several components, including but not limited to, relevant experience, internal equity, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
