Job Description
Sr Facility Engineer – JLL What this job involves: As a Sr Facility Engineer, you'll be a critical technical resource responsible for maintaining and optimizing facility operations across your assigned territory. This hands-on role combines technical expertise with problem-solving skills to ensure building systems operate at peak performance. You'll lead preventive maintenance programs, troubleshoot complex HVAC and electrical systems, and respond to emergency situations—all while ensuring compliance with JLL standards and safety protocols. This position offers the opportunity to work with diverse building systems and make a direct impact on facility reliability and client satisfaction. What your day-to-day will look like: Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on commercial HVAC systems including cooling towers, pumps, motors, air handlers, and automation/controls systems using industry-standard tools and techniques Execute electrical and mechanical work on low/medium voltage power systems, lighting systems and controls, and other facility subsystems while maintaining comprehensive knowledge of safe work practices for energized equipment Conduct facility inspections and due diligence assessments, documenting as-found conditions and identifying safety hazards with proposed elimination methods Manage vendor relationships and utilize CMMS work order systems to track, document, and complete maintenance activities efficiently Provide responsive tenant services including general interior maintenance, painting, locksmith work, minor plumbing repairs, and furniture installation or relocation Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, state/county/city codes, and all safety procedures including proper storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials Maintain availability for 24-hour emergency response and work in various weather conditions and environments including roofs, crawl spaces, attics, and confined spaces Required Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent with 3-5 years of applicable working experience in HVAC repairs and maintenance EPA Universal Certification and R410a Certification Valid state driver's license with ability to operate motor vehicles and maintain truck-based or campus-based work arrangements Demonstrated ability to lift 80 lbs, use ladders up to 30 ft, work from heights, and climb ladders with 300-lb weight limits while carrying approximately 20 lbs of tools Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA standards, local codes, safe work practices for energized work, and proper PPE usage with ability to recognize, assess, and mitigate risk Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), Microsoft Office Suite, and web-based applications Skilled operation of electric hand tools and equipment with physical capability to bend, sit, kneel, squat, stand, reach, and work in exposed conditions including heat, sunlight, rain, and cold for extended periods Preferred Qualifications: Minimum 1-5 years of additional experience in general building repair and maintenance including basic plumbing and electrical work Completion of an applicable technical training program or vocational certification Advanced knowledge of building automation systems and controls troubleshooting Experience with carpentry, locksmith work, and specialized facility maintenance tasks Strong vendor management and coordination experience Proven track record of working independently with written assignments and limited supervision while maintaining excellent documentation practices Demonstrated excellence in customer service with ability to assess needs, meet quality standards, and ensure client satisfaction in property management environments
