We are working on a Senior Associate opening on a Construction Finance team supporting large-scale capital projects in the Arlington, VA area. This role is built around budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and helping leadership make better decisions around multi-billion-dollar construction spend. It is a strong fit for someone who can work across finance, project controls, construction, engineering, accounting, and leadership, while keeping a close eye on the numbers and what they are saying. What You’d Be Doing Own financial support for specific business areas tied to major capital projects Build and manage budgets Report actuals and explain variances Provide trend analysis and forecast updates Help with liquidity planning Support change management efforts Review contracts and look at supplier risk Partner on accounting treatment questions Deliver data-driven insights that help guide decisions Put together executive-level presentations on financial results Support monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting Assist with external reporting needs Handle ad hoc analysis as needed Build relationships across project controls, construction, engineering, development, accounting, and leadership to gather inputs and keep financial goals aligned Look for ways to improve processes, reporting tools, and financial models What They’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field 4+ years of experience in finance, accounting, project controls, cost engineering, or something closely related Strong analytical skills and a solid grasp of financial concepts Someone comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where things can shift and not always be perfectly structured Strong communication skills, especially the ability to simplify complex issues for leadership A proactive mindset and good instincts around problem solving Someone who works well across teams and can build strong relationships with stakeholders High attention to detail, good judgment, and a strong sense of ownership Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modeling skills Ability to be in the office daily Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites or another office as needed A few things that stand out to me about this one: it is not just a heads-down reporting job. This person will need to be sharp with the numbers, but also comfortable interacting with leadership and helping connect financial results to what is actually happening on the ground across major projects.
