Your Role At Cabot Cabot has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Health, Safety and Security Specialist to provide senior professional level analysis and technical expertise to Department and Site managers in a wide range of health, safety and security disciplines at the Pampa Development and Manufacturing Center and Pilot/R&D Plant. This position will work in conjunction with the Site Health, Safety and Security Manager to develop, implement, and monitor Health, Safety and Security programs that comply with all relevant laws, regulations and guidelines to minimize unsafe acts and conditions in the workplace. You will act as a technical expert and advise management of policies, standards and will compile pertinent information for reporting. How You’ll Make An Impact In this role your primary duty will be to establish trusted advisor relationships with our employees and our department leadership at the PDMC site. A successful candidate will be someone who can: Develop, implement, and monitor Health, Safety & Security compliance programs. Collect, evaluate and analyze HS&S data to manage HS&S information. Monitor and track safety and health performance. Create and/or run reports for distribution to management or oversee management reporting. Prepare reports and recommend corrective action. Monitor and prevent chemical, physical, biological hazards and diseases that could be in the workplace. Conduct and lead investigations of accidents, injuries, and complaints concerning hazards or uncomfortable conditions in the workplace. Advise on appropriate corrective action. Conduct Health, Safety and Security inspections, meetings and follow-up. Collaborate with employees and supervisors to identify and correct potential safety, health and security hazards. Recommend improvements in processes, design, procedures and operating equipment to minimize the hazardous potential. Track and monitor existing and pending regulations and make strategic recommendations and lead advocacy efforts. Ensure awareness of all applicable laws and regulations by maintaining a close liaison with relevant regulatory officials. Support evaluation of new product lines by reviewing new products, equipment, and processes for potential hazards and recommend modifications before introduction. Participate in developing corrective measures. Conduct comprehensive compliance assurance reviews of Safety, Health and Security policies and procedures. Ensure that all plant activities are conducted in a safe and productive manner. Provide assistance in assessing and achieving Corporate SH&E goals and objectives. Develop and conduct employee training, emergency preparedness and quality assurance programs. Maintains knowledge of specific requirements imposed by government agencies. Acts as lead person or technical expert providing functional direction and training in application of the occupational health and safety programs. Supports efforts to implement and maintain the Responsible Care® Management System in line with the requirements of the RC14001® technical specification, as applicable to the site/region.
