The Maritime Engineering Operation (MEO) of Serco North America is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Marine Engineer to join our team. MEO supports the US Navy and other commercial maritime customers on a variety of programs and is involved in all stages of ship and ship system design. As a Senior Marine Engineer, you will work in our Arlington, VA office and will join our experienced technical staff and apply your marine engineering expertise to lead projects and prepare/review engineering deliverables in support of the design of ships, craft, and other floating structures. In this position you will: Perform auxiliary, fluid, mechanical, engine, and propulsion system design or review. Apply marine engineering knowledge in accordance with applicable regulatory body rules, regulations, and industry standards to develop analyses and products. Lead in the development and validation of design and engineering requirements, preparation of specifications, and provide inputs to technical reports and presentations. Lead design integrations, coordinating inputs from various marine engineering and other engineering disciplines, such as naval architecture and structures, to establish principal characteristics and design features. Lead and review concept and feasibility design studies of auxiliary systems including pumping and distribution for fuel, seawater, fresh water, and other fluid systems. Lead and review concept and feasibility studies for equipment including refrigeration units, pumps, motors, and HVAC systems.
