Senior Manager of Market Surveillance and Mitigation for Markets+– Salary Range: $151,530.00 $196,975.00 Join our team as the Senior Manager, Market Surveillance and Mitigation for Markets+! We are seeking an experienced and mission-driven Senior Manager, Market Surveillance and Mitigation for Markets+ to develop, define and implement strategic plans that allow for the successful accomplishment of the MMU departmental responsibilities and obligations under the Tariff. The Senior Manager develops both strategic and tactical departmental and team goals and leads team in completing those initiatives efficiently and with quality results. This is accomplished through the direct management of staff and contractors, collaboration with MMU leadership, and the diligent coordination with other company departments and the Oversight Committee. The Senior Manager is the primary decision maker for the Market Surveillance and Mitigation team, with the authority to make final decisions impacting significant MMU initiatives and delegate additional tasks where appropriate. Essential Functions Develop and define strategic plans and departmental goals that maximize the team’s contributions to the overall success of the Markets+ MMU initiatives Independently identify priority initiatives that align with the requirements and obligations of the Markets+ MMU per FERC Orders and the SPP Tariff Ensure independence from the RTO while facilitating interaction with other SPP departments, SPP committees, and stakeholders to ensure effective market monitoring and surveillance Independently represent the Market Monitoring department with SPP staff and management, market participants, and federal and state regulators Provide senior leadership and direction for the Markets+ MMU and serve as primary decision-maker for issues involving assigned functions Maintain an advanced and competent understanding of the business and technical requirements of the market surveillance functions and obligations under the Tariff Accountable as primary decision marker for the management of the day-to-day surveillance of market outcomes and market participant behavior, and coordinate interaction with market participants and FERC as needed Develop and lead plans for the review and analysis of market data for compliance with the market power and mitigation rules as well as other market rule violations, and identify issues with current rules and develop solutions Manage the acquisition, storage and processing of all market participants and RTO data required to perform market monitoring related functions Collaborate with MMU leadership team on the development of Markets + MMU comments on protocol and Tariff revisions and related FERC filings, as needed Manage interaction and relationship with FERC Office of Enforcement staff on market oversight and investigations matters Brief Oversight Committee
