The Sr Staff Image Data Scientist is responsible for providing technical design, implementation, and operational health of critical analysis platforms in assigned department. Serves as a technology advocate withing the St. Jude image analysis community. Will architect, design and develop image analysis platforms, independently lead engineering discussions and assess impacts to overall technology performance. Will engage with leadership and other internal and external experts. The NeuroImage Analysis core in the Department of Developmental Neurobiology (DNB) at St Jude Children's Research Hospital is a team of computational scientists with a focus on turning image data into biological knowledge. We utilize computational tools at the cross-section of biology and cutting-edge microscopy methods to understand how brains are built during development and how neurons function in the brain and malfunction in disease. This position emphasizes time-series analysis to advance research in calcium imaging, neural and behavioral dynamics, and chromatin dynamics. Job Responsibilities: Develop statistical, time-series, and machine learning techniques to extract meaningful insights from complex biological data (large-scale neuroimages, light and electron microscopy, animal behavior, histopathology, etc). Collaborate with scientists and researchers to design experiments and optimize data acquisition protocols for effective downstream computational analysis.
