Please review the job details below. Lanteris Space is currently seeking a Sr. Structures Design Engineer to join our team in Palo Alto, CA. In this role you will be responsible for the the design and development of spacecraft structures and secondary supports. You will work with a small design team as the senior engineer, maintaining engineering schedule and generating drawings, supporting spacecraft structure build and supporting special projects dealing with structural products. Responsibilities: Create product specifications, negotiate design details, interfaces, test plans/procedures, and mfg/test processes based on program requirements. Assist in oversight for the integration of subcontracted hardware into spacecraft systems architecture. Generate engineering drawing and models with Creo and other design tools. Help disposition nonconformances and drive for process improvements. Minimum Requirements Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace), or related field. 5 years of experience, including piece part and subassembly modeling in CREO or other CAD software and assembly drawing generation Preferred Qualifications Knowledge in skills such as manufacturing process, additive design, mechanical assembly, electromechanical integration, etc. of flight equipment Experience with Creo, and matrix laboratory (MATLAB)/Simulink. Ability to assume role as sub-system owner and/or lead multidisciplinary team for fulfillment of programmatic requirements Ability to evaluate processes for non-value-added steps and continuous improvement opportunities Strong written and verbal communication skills Group project experience, ability to collaborate with team members of different technical disciplines Strong project management skills Detailed understanding of top-level assembly models, product structure, and billing of materials (BOM) definition. Possess understanding of design practices for release, redline, and engineering change notice processes Comfortable working on interdisciplinary teams, internally and externally Comfortable leading and conducting meetings with customers, vendors, and different levels of management In support of pay transparency at Lanteris Space Systems, we disclose salary ranges on all U.S. job postings. The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range. The base pay for this position within California is: $104,000.00 - $173,000.00 annually. For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
