Job Description
Financial Reporting Specialist Supports accurate financial reporting and cost control in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for month-end accounting activities, cost and inventory analysis, fixed asset accounting, and audit support, while providing timely financial insights to management and ensuring compliance with IFRS and company policies. Job Duties and Responsibilities Prepare and post monthly journal entries in accordance with IFRS, including the calculation of accruals and management of prepaid expenses Coordinate and maintain the department's month-end close checklist to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards Prepare supporting documentation and schedules for the annual financial audit Maintain and, in collaboration with IT, develop systems and processes to support cost accounting requirements Support physical inventory counts and cycle count processes, investigating and resolving variances as needed Assist with the development of the annual operating budget and preparation of quarterly forecasts Prepare monthly account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies Record and reconcile monthly intercompany transactions Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs Provide management with detailed financial and cost reports to support business decision-making and cost control initiatives Monitor tooling and prototype projects from a financial perspective, including tracking related costs and revenues Under management direction, independently analyze financial data to assess the impact of costs on business operations Evaluate process constraints and collaborate with management to develop and implement appropriate financial controls Provide timely and accurate cost and financial information to management at an appropriate level of detail Comply with all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and procedures Supervisory Responsibility n/a Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in related field and/or equivalent work experience 5+ years of experience or equivalent Automotive experience a plus Significant analytical capability Experience working with Cost/Financial systems (QAD is a plus) Training/Skills Excellent written, verbal communication and collaborative skills Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office products Proficiency in QAD Able to work in a fast-paced environment Must be team oriented and able to work with all employees at all levels of the organization This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
